For a few years now, future Apple devices have showed up as code within the iOS. The iPhone 4 showed up almost 15 months before it was released, and the iPad showed up under a code name of “iProd” several years before its launch. In new versions of the iOS, several devices that indicate usage of a CDMA chip have appeared within the code. They also happen to have designations that indicate they are modifications of the iPhone 4 – not necessarily new phones, just altered in some way (CDMA chip!) that necessitates the new designations. Keep your fingers crossed, along with 51% of Verizon’s customers that an iPhone comes to the Big Red in the near future.
